Take Control of Your Time with Plan Everything 365

In today’s fast-moving world, managing your time well is one of the most important skills you can have. Whether you’re building a business or climbing the career ladder, using your time wisely can help you reach your goals faster and feel less overwhelmed. At Plan Everything 365, I help clients plan their days, focus on what matters, and create routines that stick.

Let’s look at seven time management methods that can make your day more productive and your life more balanced.

1. The Eisenhower Matrix: Know What to Tackle First

Some tasks feel urgent, but they aren’t always important. The Eisenhower Matrix helps you tell the difference. It’s a tool that sorts tasks into four boxes: urgent and important, important but not urgent, urgent but not important, and neither.

Why it works: It stops you from wasting time on low-value tasks. Instead, you spend your energy where it counts most.

2. The 80/20 Rule: Focus on the Work That Matters

The 80/20 Rule, also known as the Pareto Principle, teaches that 80% of your results come from just 20% of your efforts. In coaching, I help clients find those high-value tasks that bring the biggest rewards.

Why it works: You can do less, but achieve more. As a result, your time and energy are spent wisely.

3. The 1-3-5 Rule: Make Daily Tasks Manageable

A long to-do list can be overwhelming. That’s why I recommend the 1-3-5 Rule: choose 1 big task, 3 medium ones, and 5 small ones for your day.

Why it works: It sets clear limits and gives you a sense of progress, which helps lower stress and builds daily momentum.

4. Eat That Frog: Start with the Hardest Task

If there’s something you keep putting off, that’s your “frog.” This method says to do it first thing in the morning before distractions take over.

Why it works: Getting the hardest task out of the way builds confidence and makes the rest of the day feel easier.

5. Deep Work: Protect Your Focus

Deep work means spending time on one task with zero distractions. I coach clients to block off quiet time for focused work—no emails, no phone, just full attention.

Why it works: Focused work leads to better results and fewer mistakes. In addition, it boosts your creativity and energy.

6. The Pomodoro Technique: Stay Sharp with Short Breaks

The Pomodoro Technique splits work into 25-minute blocks, each followed by a short break. For larger tasks, it keeps your mind fresh and on track.

Why it works: Short sprints keep you focused without getting burned out. Over time, this improves both quality and consistency.

7. Time Blocking: Structure Your Day for Success

Time blocking is my favorite technique. You divide your day into blocks of time—some for work, some for breaks, and some for planning or self-care.

Why it works: It turns your schedule into a plan. That way, you avoid multitasking and decision fatigue. It also keeps your priorities front and center.

Why I Love Time Blocking

Time blocking is a simple but powerful tool. When you assign time to your most important tasks, you create structure in your day. This helps you stay ahead instead of feeling behind. Whether you’re a business owner, job seeker, or manager, time blocking gives you the space to focus and follow through.

In coaching, I use it to help clients reclaim their time and get more done without feeling overwhelmed. It turns chaos into calm—and ideas into results.
